Indie bands grow up fast these days. In the summer of 2005 Editors released their debut album The Back Room. They played in Belgium for the first time that year at the Pukkelpop festival. Their singles Bullets, Munich and Blood all became radio hits. The band then played a great concert at Vooruit and landed a place on the Main Stage of the 2006 Werchter festival. All their hard work paid off when they sold a million copies of their debut album. The media have often likened Editors to Interpol and Joy Division, courtesy of lead singer Tom Smith’s melancholy voice and the band’s sombre songs.

But Editors are so much more than that. An End Has A Start, their second album, was released just before the summer and greatly surpasses its predecessor. The overall sound is still sombre – death and loss are the main themes – but what’s really remarkable is that the songs are incredibly well-crafted. Their 2007 concert on the Main Stage of Pukkelpop was a hit and tickets for their autumn show in Les Halles de Schaerbeek sold out in no time.

The band is ready to play bigger venues, but instead chooses to keep in touch with their audience – in Vooruit’s Concertzaal for example. A unique chance to see one of the most interesting bands of the moment perform live in an intimate and pleasant setting.
