Finnish accordion wizard Kimmo Pohjonen explores traditional music, jazz, rock and avant-garde with his instrument. He always looks for a universal music language, without losing track of his roots. He takes inspiration from traditional Finnish songs or laulu, and the Kalevala, the national epic of Finland, composed of fifty cantos and more than 20,000 verses.
A show by Pohjonen is more than just music; you’ll also be treated to an impressive light show. Pohjonen takes the stage like a shaman, masters his instrument and takes the audience on an exciting trip.
For Animator, Pohjonen will work with Marita Liulia, a household name in the Finnish media arts world. Liulia, a.k.a. The Queen of Multimedia, will provide live animation at Pohjonen’s concert. She will also design the costumes.
