For Etoiles Polaires 07, Finnish media artist Juha Huuskonen will set up a video and installation trail (you can read more about him under FrictiesSalon).
TERIKE HAAPOJA – Community / Mind over Matter over Mind / Atlantis
(Domzaal & Dansstudio)
The trail will mainly focus on the work of Terike Haapoja, who will bring along 3 works to Vooruit. This Finnish media artist has a strange fascination for the beginning and the end of animal and human life. Her work is characterized by its strongly meditative atmosphere. In Community she projects infrared images of cooling animal corpses. Her second work, Mind over Matter, shows human embryos in all sizes and shapes in 3D. Atlantis, her third work, will give us a look inside the womb in images and sound.
JUHA VALKEAPÄÄ
(Production space Dansstudio)
Juha Valkeapää’s work balances on the fine line between installation and performance art. He asks the unsuspecting visitor a couple of questions about various subjects. With this material he then makes sound portraits, turning your voice into a true work of art!
