Etoiles Polaires will serve up both music and media arts. For the second part, Vooruit decided to work with Finnish guest curator Juha Huuskonen. Back in Helsinki he’s the founder of Pixelache, a festival for electronic art that has expanded into an international network of events. Pixelache is a platform which allows artists to experiment with media and technology in an informal and playful yet critical way.
On the opening night, our media arts programmer Eva De Groote will interview guest curator Juha Huuskonen. At Etoiles Polaires, he will be by joined by his fellow countrymen and women, who will show their work in the video and installation trail and provide visuals at one of the many concerts. The featured media artists have collaborated intensively with Finnish musicians. He will explain his selection and place them in the context of the Finnish art world. Apart from that he will also talk about his own project, Pixelache.
