Ghent-based Nele Keukelier will be presenting her new short film at the Almost Cinema festival.
She asked author Peter Verhelst to write a text about her film, A View:
“There’s an ordinary man in a building, sometimes there are children, and sometimes there’s a woman. Sometimes, we can catch a glimpse of the person doing the filming. We, the viewers, start suspecting all sorts of things. We become paranoid; trying to figure out a storyline. We can’t help but wonder: Why? What’s going on? The answers to these questions turn us into viewers again, but this time we’re shown our own desires. Nele Keukeleur’s A view is as simple as it is intriguing. It’s just as ordinary, sad, funny, complex and gripping as life itself.”
