Aki Onda is certainly not an introvert: for the audiovisual project Cinemage he places his own life centrally. Slideshows with pictures from Onda’s world are projected onto a big screen, creating the illusion of a slowly developing film. The filmic atmosphere is emphasized by improvisations by guitar virtuosos Noël Akchoté and Jean-François Pauvros. This means that Cinemage is neither film, music or photography, but an adventurous combination of these three.

One of the most unpredictable projects present at Almost Cinema 07 is undeniably The Focus Puller. The city of Ghent plays the lead in this unique project. Earlier this year, ZimmerFrei visited the city, took pictures, and asked Italian film critics with which films they associated the images. This served as the basis for seven entirely new scenes filmed on the exact same locations. The original soundtracks remain intact, but will be spruced up with live music. An evening not to be missed!
