The Van Jets are on a roll. Their debut album, Electric Soldiers, which was released earlier this year, received rave reviews and gave them a ticket to Werchter and Pukkelpop. Things didn’t always look so good for the band, though. In 2003, founding brothers Verschaeve couldn’t stop bickering and the band’s line-up changed constantly. All that changed in 2004, when the Ostend-born (but Ghent-based) guys won Humo’s Rock Rally (one of the biggest competitions for young rock talent in Flanders). Gone were the days of musty basements and seedy bars; Verschaeve and his crew played large crowds that loved their glam rock sound and their catchy riffs.

With great tunes like Our Love is Strong and Johnny Winter, the foursome confirmed their place in the Belgian rock firmament.

In April they already played Vooruit, and now they’re returning here for the last date of their tour. If you missed them, here’s your chance to see the guys rocking Vooruit!

The new revelation from Ghent, The Hong Kong Dong, knows the classics. Their list of influences features the likes of Bowie and Zappa, but they also appreciate Nina Simone and The Beasty Boys. An exotic cocktail sure to bring the house down!
