Uitgelezen is our live book programme by and for readers. Your host Fien Sabbe will welcome our regular panel members Anna Luyten and Jos Geysels, who will review three books together with two guest panel members.
Apart from a book tombola, pictures from the De Morgen archive and cartoons by ZAK, you can also enjoy a musical intermezzo.
On Tuesday the 16th of October, we’ll be placing three books in the spotlight in which music plays the lead. Take Japanese master Haruki Murakami’s Norwegian Wood for example, which features The Beatles, Bach and Bill Evans. Or Beatland by Frank Albers, who followed in Jack Kerouacs travelling footsteps fifty years after On The Road was first published. The third book we’ll be discussing is Musicophilia by Oliver Sacks, in which the famous neurologist researches the influence of music on the human brain. This theme stays in tune with the music documentaries that will be shown in the Theaterzaal during Almost Cinema, the fascinating ten-day festival organised by Vooruit in association with the Film Festival Ghent.
Our guest panel members will be Steve Stevaert, the governor of Limburg, and actress/presenter Francesca Vanthielen. The guys from Kommil Foo will provide musical entertainment.
