In July 2006, aRTET won the Jong Jazztalent Gent (Young Jazz talent from Ghent) competition, which assured them a place at the 2007 Blue Note Records Festival and a tour with Jazzlab Series.
aRTET performs unique compositions by François Delporte, inluenced by Coltrane, Chick Corea, Björk, The Police and – as unlikely as it may seem – Metallica. With a good sense of dynamics, groove, atmosphere and energy, Delporte and his friends Lionel Beuvens (drums), Ben Ramon (double bass) and Tom Callens (tenor sax) will bring the room to the boiling point.

Now that Bach has more or less faded into the background again after the celebration of the Bach in 2000, when it was 250 years ago that he died, Sebastian Gramss decided make an old dream reality. On his third CD, Marathon (1999), he already used some fragments of the Goldberg Variations. Now he and his quintet Underkarl will perform all 30 variations.

German band Underkarl has been around for ten years and is regarded as one of the most exciting ensembles of the European jazz scene. Their unique interpretation of the Goldberg Variations is sure to surprise.
