CHANGE OF HALLS: the concert will take place in the Theaterzaal instead of in the Domzaal.
The unsurpassed Trio Grande (Michel Debrulle, Michel Massot and Laurent Dehors) has joined forces with the British pianist and born improviser Matthew Bourne. This specially formed quartet made the earth move at the rural Gaume Jazz festival in 2006. We’re more than happy to offer them a chance to repeat the experience at Vooruit. The concert is part of their exclusive tour of Flanders.
British pianist Matthew Bourne is the perfect partner for Trio Grande. The 30-year-old performer’s expressive way of playing fits the sensual and often surprising sounds of the Trio like a glove. Bourne discovered jazz after exploring classical music and avant-garde. With his lively solo and group projects (with Barre Philips among others), he has received rave reviews and has won numerous prizes, such as the Perrier Young Jazz Award in 2001.
