The German choreographer Martin Nachbar learned the ropes at PARTS and Les Ballets C. de la B. His performances and interventions are always in tune with the space they take place in. In ‘REPEATER’, he once again makes creative use of space to represent interpersonal relationships in general, and in specific between Nachbar (neighbour) and his own father, who gives his first dance performance ever. The show creates a spatial construction of the family concept.
‘REPEATER’ is a dramatic representation of the generation conflict. Nachbar is more interested in the father-son constellation than in the narrative aspect. Yet, they both have their own stories of losing a home, of erring through Europe and escaping into dance⦠Together, they look for common ground and for things they have learned from each other.
