“One of the most talked about musicians of the European improvisation jazz scene,” is how Karel Van Keymeulen of “De Standaard” newspaper labelled Louis Sclavis. This French clarinettist cannot be labelled, because he loves to stray away from the beaten track. The same applies to classically-trained oboist Piet Van Bockstal.
For this project that crosses borders, they are each assisted by a musician of choice. Sclavis chose his regular percussionist François Merville, while Van Bockstal suggested the young pianist Thomas Dieltjens.
An impressive union on the cutting edge.
